In the spring of 2009,
Talon Sebeq (an asphalt contractor) called on Patrick
Lemay from Universal Roll to fix its problems with conveyor
roller on an asphalt recycling train.
They had a big problem with the conveyor rollers of
their CMI recycling train made in the United States.
They had to start changing the rollers after only 4 weeks
of operation, because of the intense heat and extreme
humidity.
During the winter of 2010, Universal Roll replaced all
conveyor rollers on the equipment. "I made my first
visits to the site when the machine was in operation,
that is on July 7 and July 15, 2010. During an extreme
heat wave, the temperature of the asphalt on the ground
reached 137 ºF (58 ºC)”, said Patrick Lemay.
Sylvain Lachambre declared: "The Universal rollers
lasted for the whole season. We did not experience
any downtime because of the rollers, unlike the previous
years. The Universal rollers stood up to extreme
humidity and intense heat. In addition we have eliminated
build-up problems. The Universal industrial roller is half as
heavy as the traditional iron roller. We will even reuse
almost all of the rollers for next season.
